Speaker, PA, and Sound System Hire

Introduction

If you have just found us via www.surreysoundhire.co.uk, then welcome! Surrey Sound Hire is our sound division of Fusion Event Services.

We provide audio systems for all events, no matter the size. From small birthday parties to festivals, we have something to suit everyone and operate across Surrey, Kent, Sussex, London, and beyond.

To make life easy, they are detailed below with real-life comments on our experience with the exact systems and suggestions for their best application.
You will note that we almost exclusively use Void Acoustics speakers along with Void & Crown Amplification. This for us is a highly reliable tried and tested combination, with solid reliability and an amazing sound. If you are interested in hearing our systems, feel free to drop us a message and we will give you an invite to an event where you can hear for yourself.

The below systems do not include a mixer, microphones, etc., they are simply the amplifier and speaker system, but we have a wide range of mixers and plenty of wireless and wired microphones and stands for any eventuality.

Small Audio Systems

Mini S System

600W RMS - Voice/Vocals 50-100 people.

2x Mycro 8 Speakers
1x Kryo K5 amplifier
2x Speaker Stands
2x 10m NL2 Speaker Cables
2x 6m XLR Cables

This is a compact system at home with small presentations/parties/speeches and more. Although own we wouldn't usually recommend this for the main party audio system we have customers who hire this system regularly for small-themed party events such as 80s nights. It also works great for a vocal soloist for example. We have typically used this system in council meetings, presentations, and for speeches/receptions at weddings.

Mini M System

1200W RMS. Small parties 50-100 people, but generally not 'big' birthdays like 18 or 21st birthdays.

2x Mycro 8 Speakers
1x Void Venu Bass/112 Subwoofer
1x Kryo K5.4 amplifier
2x Speaker Stands
3x 10m NL2 Speaker Cables
2x 6m XLR Cables.

This is the same as the Mini system but adds a single 12-inch subwoofer to provide a low-frequency extension. This allows the system to play louder and deeper making it suitable for small parties. This is still an incredibly compact system punching way beyond its visual presence. We typically use this for smaller parties of 50-100 people with the typical 60's to 80's party classics. We wouldn't use this system for an 18th which tends to be louder and more bass orientated but it would be fine for older parties with more classic tastes.

Mini L System

1800W RMS Small parties, 50-100 people all kinds of music, perhaps not 18th or 21st where music tends to be more bass-heavy

2x Mycro 8 Speakers
1x Void Venu X/212 Subwoofer
1x Kryo K5.4 amplifier
2x Speaker Stands
3x 10m NL2 Speaker Cables
2x 6m XLR Cables.

This is the same as the Mini M System, but with a double 12-inch subwoofer to provide even greater low-frequency extension. This allows the system to play louder and deeper than the M system, making it suitable for small to medium parties. This is still an incredibly compact system punching way beyond its visual presence. We typically use this for smaller to medium parties of 50-100 people all types of music. Whilst we still wouldn't use this for a big 18th it would be fine for almost anything else.

Mini XL System

3000W RMS Small parties, 50-100 people all kinds of music, perhaps not 18th or 21st where music tends to be more bass-heavy

2x Mycro 8 Speakers
1x Void Venu X/212 Subwoofer
1x Kryo K5.4 amplifier
2x Speaker Stands
3x 10m NL2 Speaker Cables
2x 6m XLR Cables.

This is the same as the Mini L System, but with a pair of double 12-inch subwoofers to provide even greater low-frequency extension. This makes it suitable for medium parties of around 50-100 people all types of music. This is a bass-heavy system capable of doing all kinds of high-energy dance music justice.

'Party'/Medium Audio Systems

38.51

These systems make up the majority of our jobs, with the vast majority of our DJ packages using the Party M system.

Party M System

1200W RMS Compact and powerful.

2x Stasys 2/Impulse 4 Speakers
1x Kryo K5 amplifier
2x Speaker Stands
2x 10m NL4 Speaker Cables
2x 6m XLR Cables.

This is a simple system of two full-range speakers and a separate amp rack. This is capable of parties of up to 150 playing non-bass heavy music. For music with heavy bass look at the Party L or XL systems.

Party L System

2400W RMS The best all-rounder, and our most popular hired system.

2x Stasys 2/Impulse 4 Speakers
1x Void Venu X/212 Subwoofer
1x Kryo K5.4 amplifier
2x Speaker Stands
2x 10m NL4 Speaker Cables
1x 5m NL4 Speaker Cable
2x 6m XLR Cables.

This is by far our most popular system, almost all DJ events we do go out with this package. It is provided with larger 12-inch tops complimented with a double 12-inch sub. This system plays incredibly well. For corporate parties, weddings, and any birthday this system has it covered 100-150 people. This system also gets a lot of use outdoors at small fairs and public events. It really is a very flexible system.

Party XL System

3600W RMS - Our most popular system but on steroids!

2x Stasys 2/Impulse 4 Speakers
2x Void Venu X/212 Subwoofer
1x Kryo K5.4 amplifier
2x Speaker Stands
4x 10m NL4 Speaker Cables
2x 6m XLR Cables.

This takes our very popular Party L package and adds a further subwoofer. So now we have two 12-inch tops complimented with two double 12-inch subs giving a total of 3600 watts RMS. Each sub sits under the tops. This is a serious system for medium-sized events up to around 100-200 people in fairly large venues. It is perfect for larger birthdays and weddings or for those looking to replicate modern EDM/bass-heavy music.

Big "Festival" PA Systems

This is where we move away from the norm and start looking at systems for larger events indoors and out. This kit is seriously powerful and is all based around our larger touring PA kit. Some of these systems require much more power than can be provided by a typical wall socket, and consideration and planning for this is required! In addition systems this large require an engineer to monitor and run them.

Festival S System

Approx 8400W RMS

2x Impulse 3T Top Speakers
2x Stasys X v2 Subs
1x Crown 24kW amp rack
4x 20m NL4 Speaker Cables
2x 6m XLR Cables.
Approx weight of 450Kg

PA at this level is a totally different animal to the rest of the systems above, and yet this is our entry Festival system. This system can do full 'club' sound pressure levels for events for up to 500 people. In any normal-sized party venue indoors, you simply wouldn't be able to turn it all the way up, it gets ridiculous! We use this system for our own Ibiza House music events, where expectations are high and quality is paramount. This is a big system weighing in at around 450 kg, and one thing is for sure it's absolutely not fitting in the back of the car!

Festival M System

Approx 10000W RMS, Ideal for outdoor/indoor events with quite a wide audience. Our most popular big PA system.

4x Impulse 3T Top Speakers
2x Stasys X v2 Subs
1x Crown 24kW amp rack
4x 20m NL4 Speaker Cables
2x 1m NL4 Link Cable
2x 6m XLR Cables.

Take the Festival S system, and add another pair of Impulse 3T tops, allowing for two per side. This allows for wider audience coverage. This again is a very potent and our most popular larger system. We frequently use this setup for outdoor live music events where we can cover up to 1,000 people with ease.

This system is our own personal go-to and is used frequently by us for our own fireworks and Laser shows along with larger community fairs, community events, Christmas light turn-ons, large corporate events and more. It really is a very flexible and powerful system, and it is also possible to just about run this from a single 13A supply* - just!

*How is it possible to run a 10Kw system from a 3Kw supply, you may ask? Fortunately, music isn't (or shouldn't be!) A constant 100% clipped square wave audio signal. Even heavily compressed music will have a surprisingly large dynamic range also known as the Crest Factor, this is a measure of the difference between the loud and the quiet parts of an audio track. This means that despite the audio system being 10Kw, the actual average power consumption will be under 3kW.

Festival L System

Approx 20,000W RMS - Very popular for larger live outdoor events.

6x Impulse 3T Top Speakers
4x Stasys X v2 Subs
2x Crown 24kW amp rack
8x 10m NL4 Speaker Cables
4x 1m NL4 Link Cable
2x 6m XLR Cables.
2x 6m XLR splitters

This is a fun system! Our outdoor beer festivals and larger local events use this system. 1000-1500 people or more is not a problem. The three tops per side also allow for wider coverage. Despite this system being capable of running from one of our Crown amp racks, we use two here. This allows greater control over the soundscape enabling specialist time alignment and beam steering. This is useful and important for getting the sound where you want and need it. It also provides redundancy in splitting up the load across more amplifiers. We used this very system to power the main stage at Summer Loving Festival 2021 (1500 capacity), and all of the 2024 Hastings Pier events (with a second pair of Impulse 3Ts as delays)  with brutal effect, and also some of our own larger events we organise. A very capable system indeed.

Festival XL System

Approx 40,000W RMS, and weighing in at around 1.5 tons capable of 2000+ capacity

8x Impulse 3T Top Speakers
8x Stasys X v2 Subs
2x Crown 24kW amp rack
1x Crown 18kWbass amp rack
12x 20m NL4 Speaker Cables
4x 1m NL4 Link Cable
2x 6m XLR Cables.
2x 6m XLR splitters

Brutal power. This system comprises of 8x tops with 8x double 18-inch subs. This would suit any event playing any music up to around 2500 people. We took this system to Hastings Pier in 2024 for a 90s Baby event featuring artists such as Baby D, Dave Pearce, N Trance, etc. In all honesty we were worried it wouldn't be enough power to do the event and its 2500+ capacity justice. In reality it was huge over kill. We couldn't turn it up! From this point forward we used the Festival L system above with a pair of 3T delays instead, so we still don't know what this system is capable of!
